Excelsior Realty Group is an Independent Real Estate Office located in Melrose, MA 02176.  Melrose is a suburb located in the Greater Boston metropolitan area in Middlesex County.  The city is 4.76 square miles and 28,193 population per 2018 census.  Cities and Towns that border this suburb 7 miles north of Boston are Malden, Saugus, Stoneham and Wakefield.  Also, close proximity is a 20 miles drive to the Southern New Hampshire border.  There is much to experience and enjoy in any one of the 8 neighborhoods ~~ Cedar Park, Downtown Melrose, East Side, Horace Mann, Melrose Highlands, Mount Hood, Oak Grove/Pine Banks and Wyoming.  People who live and raise their children in this vibrant city, tend to be lifelong residents as their adult families do also.

MELROSE ROTARY CLUB


  • Meets weekly at Memorial Hall on Thursdays at 12:15pm. Rotarians are helping to create change in our community. "Service about Self"
  • Cooks, serves and cleans up dinner on the 4th Thursday of every month for Guests of Bread of Life.  Bread of Life is a volunteer organization located at the First Baptist Church, Malden, with a mission to serve the hungry, homeless, needy and isolated. They offer free meals 4 nights a week, an emergency food pantry, free clothing, and grocery delivery to senior citizens in public housing.  "Food for the body...nurture for the soul."
  • FOOD DRIVE for BREAD of LIFE - Melrose Rotarian, Chris Cinella, will be collecting non-perishables items at his office: 502 Main Street, Melrose from April 30 - June 1 (or longer if necessary)
  • POLIO PLUNGE - Rotary International has been working to Eradicate Polio in this world for more than 30 years.  Rotary is a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we’ve reduced polio cases by 99.9% since the first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.  Today, there are only 3 endemic countries - Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria.  Melrose Rotarian and Executive Director of the Melrose Chamber of Commerce, Lauren Grymek, participated in the 10th Annual Polio Plunge.  Lauren was one of 200 local Rotarians to plunge into the frosty water and 40 degree temperature in Long Beach, Gloucester to help raise funds to end Polio.  More than $91,000 was raised and all donations are matched by Bill and Melinda Gates.
  • ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM – a Rotary International student exchange program for students in secondary school. Since 1929, Rotary International has sponsored about 9000 students from around the Globe to experience new cultures. The students stay with a host family during the year, become a member of the household, perform daily tasks, and attend school. Melrose has participated in the Youth Exchange Program.

Milano Family Senior Center, offers a variety of programs and activities for our seniors. Melrose Council on Aging Office is in the Senior Center. The Senior Center is a District Office for State Senator, Jason Lewis, and he hosts monthly community District office hours at the Center.


Education


Melrose has a highly rated school system. There are 3909 students in Grades K-12, several elementary schools, a Middle School, and Melrose High School. The student teacher ratio is 15-1, the graduation rate is 97% and 46% college readiness. The city also has a private elementary school, St. Mary of the Annunciation. The Northeast Metro Tech Regional Vocational High School is a 4 year public school in Wakefield that serves 12 communities north of Boston. Through the integration of the efforts of the communities, parents, administration, faculty, students, and staff – the school is committed to

a rigorous academic and career/technical education in an open, diverse, and supportive environment.


Melrose Health Care Services

Melrose-Wakefield Hospital (Hallmark Health) located on Lebanon Street in Melrose is a 234 bed non-profit community hospital, and a general medical and surgical facility. The hospital has a Clinical Affiliation with Tufts Medical Center that provides access to advanced specialty care. Mystic Valley Elder Services in Malden is a local non-profit agency supporting the well-being, dignity, and independence of elders and adults living with disabilities, and caregivers living at home. Patients discharged from Melrose -Wakefield Hospital to home often receive professional services provided by Mystic Valley Elder Services or Hallmark Health nursing staff. Also, the city’s Milano Senior Center provides social, health, recreational, and educational programs for Melrose’s senior citizens. In addition to these services, there are many physicians, pediatricians, specialists, dentists and dermatologists in Melrose, as well as nursing/retirement homes.
